New Podcast: From Dilemmas to Insights: Relational Well-being in Future Business

A podcast from CBS well-being lab

New Podcast: From Dilemmas to Insights: Relational Well-being in Future Business

You are not alone.”

This was a core message from a recent panel-discussion where four experienced business professionals reflected on real-life dilemmas submitted by students in the course Stress, Skam og Ledelse.

The conversation explores themes on performance pressure, fear of not measuring up, and the experience of shame in both academic and professional settings.

In the podcast the following three dilemmas are addressed:

  • Oscar (04:35-19:50 min), an ambitious CBS student passionate about IT consulting, who strives to meet high expectations—from himself and those at work. Yet he fears admitting to uncertainty, worried it will make him appear incompetent. Surrounded by peers who seem to have it all figured out, Oscar hesitates to ask for help.
How should Oscar balance ambition with the insecurity that follows?
  • Line (19:52-34:14 min), 32 years old, is a dedicated employee who does her absolute best at work—taking extra shifts, staying late, and supporting colleagues. Despite her efforts, she often feels overlooked and inadequate. For over a year, she has requested training to advance her career, but opportunities have gone to others.
Should Line keep proving her worth or pull the brakes before burning out?
  • Mads (34:15-49:22 min), a tech manager at a fast-paced company, faces intense pressure after a project launch at work goes wrong. Feeling personally responsible, he resists HR’s advice to reduce his workload, even though his family life is suffering from it.
What should leadership do to look out for their employees in times of overwhelm?
