October 2024: Karriereklubben
Read about the live debate session that was facillitated by Karriereklubben at CBS’s Wellbeing Conference. Here panelists discussed student-submitted dilemmas on navigating social anxiety, handling job expectations, and balancing studies with work. Each dilemma reflected challenges faced by students transitioning to work life. The debate offers insights for students facing similar issues, and the recorded discussion is available on Podimo and Spotify.
October 2024: Well-being conference
The first CBS Well-Being Conference on October the 1st, led by Pernille Steen Pedersen, focused on the critical importance of student well-being in higher education and as a new young employee. Over 100 attendees, including university leaders, researchers and students, discussed the pressures faced by students today, particularly among younger generations like Gen Z. Key themes included the significance of community support and reducing stigma around mental health issues.
August 2024: Master Kick-Off
While much of student life remains familiar, new master’s students face fresh dilemmas, unanswered questions, and emerging challenges are met by the students. This was evident during the CBS Master Kickoff event held on August 30, 2024. The event, designed to warmly welcome the new cohort, featured presentations by notable contributors, including conversations with two former students and a dilemma session hosted by Karriereklubben.
August 2024: Bachelor Kick-Off
For many new students, the new start may come with a great number of thoughts flying through the head, including concerns such as “Am I good enough to be here?”, “It seems everyone here has gotten their life together, and I am already falling behind”, and “My background at STX gives me a disadvantage”. These are quotes taken from research conducted by Pernille Steen Pedersen, as part of her project on Student Wellbeing, and were also presented at the Bachelor Kickoff
December 2023: ISLC
The International Studying Leadership Conference (ISLC) was held at CBS in 2023. A three day conference where Pernille Steen Pedersen, Andreas Vetö, Francesca Mus, and Lea Thingmann held a panel discussion on “Addressing employee well-being through music and adaptive leadership”.
October 2023: Panel discussion
CBS Leadership centre and Lifelong Learning at CBS together discussed issues of what does leadership look like when, today, every third young employee lacks meaning in her/his job. The two parties invited a strong panel of CBS researchers to unfold their research in a dialogue with prominent leadership practitioners from start-ups and corporate organizations – and who are, in fact, part of the new generations themselves.
September 2023: Ha(Pro): A new course on well-being in (study) groups
This year, we launched a voluntary course on Ha(Pro) on the essentials of our research: “The art of understanding and developing group work”. The goal of the course is to give students the necessary capabilities to thrive and develop constructively in group work.
August 2023: Bachelor Kick Off
The yearly festive intro-day for the new students emphasized the CBS community. During the event, the new students learned about the Nordic Nine – nine capabilities that are about understanding and solving big problems in society. The Wellbeing Lab was lead on the NN#6 “You are critical when thinking and constructive when collaborating” that are capabilities strengthened through our developed tools.
